OIL ON CANVAS INTERIOR SCENE SIGNED MARIUS BARTHALOT

Interesting and good painting signed Marius BARTHALOT (1861 - 1955) representing a young woman busy preparing game and poultry. Nice composition. A student of Léon Bonnat, Alexandre Cabanel and Gaston Casimir Saint-Pierre, he exhibited at the Salon from 18852 and became a member of the Society of French Artists. He obtained an honorable mention in 1896, the Marie-Bashkirtseff prize in 1896, a third class medal in 1899, a bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, a second class medal in 19074 and the Albert Maignan prize in 1913
